The history of Eagle Beverage started when the ban on the making, selling and drinking of alcohol was lifted in the early 1930’s, and Shelby Distributors became a beer wholesaler providing malt beverages along the “hiline” between East Glacier and Joplin.

Shelby Distributors became a distributor For E & J Gallo Winery, along with other wines in 1979.

In 2008, Shelby Distributors purchased Devine Bros. Distributing in Great Falls, which resulted in the merger of two of the original Anheuser-Busch distributors in the state of Montana.

Now the combined entity, renamed Eagle Beverage, is serving a broad share of the Golden Triangle out of their new 51,000 square foot warehouse that is located beside the Missouri River in Great Falls. The company’s distribution area ranges from Glacier Park to the west, where it supplies the park’s hotels, to Joplin on the east and from the Canadian border south to Craig and is serviced by 35 full time employees.

Eagle Beverage is the exclusive distributor of Anheuser-Busch products including Budweiser and Bud Light. They also handle a variety of micro brewed beers from Montana and the northwest. While recreation and rodeo crazy north central Montana is traditionally a big beer drinking area , wine sales are steadily improving in the area and a variety of non-alcoholic beverages and snack items complete the line of products offered by Eagle Beverage.
