Shock Top Issues Final Challenge to Fans Before World Ends
Since March, Shock Top’s Facebook page has been inundated with pleas from loyal fans looking to check something huge off their bucket lists before the world is alleged to be ending on December 21, 2012. As part of the Final Challenge program, hosted entirely on Facebook, fans outlined their bucket list adventures, tagged three friends to join them on their journeys and crossed their fingers. In May, the first wish was granted, proving that Shock Top will go to any heights for its fans. Taryn Miller, a student at Southern Illinois University who hails from the Chicago area, submitted her Final Challenge to conquer her fear of heights by bungee jumping off of the world’s tallest bridge. A few weeks later, Miller and three of her friends were travelling around the globe to bungee jump off of the Bloukrans Bridge, which stands more than 700 feet (approximately 65 stories) above the Bloukrans River near Nature’s Valley, Western Cape, South Africa. Check out the video here. (Internet access required) In July another winner, Joel Lofquist from Loveland, Colo., along with three friends, hit the slopes and the beach within 24 hours to fulfill his bucket list dream of skiing and surfing in the same day. The group skied Mt. Hood in Oregon before hopping aboard a flight to Honolulu, Hawaii to surf the waves of Waikiki Beach. A recap of Joel’s adventure will be shared later this year. The Final Challenge is one way that Shock Top is encouraging fans to Live Life Unfiltered before the world ends. Stay tuned for more doomsday fun from Shock Top!
