Notes:
The grapes for Bella Bolle’ Sweet Red are sourced from the provinces of Asti and Alessandria located in the Piedmont region of Northern Italy which is known for its’ rolling hills that provide optimum conditions for growing grapes.
After harvest, the de-stemmed grapes are placed in stainless steel tanks where they are macerated on the skins at 50ºF to extract the delicate aromas and rich color. The grape must is then separated and stored at 32ºF until bottling.
Just prior to bottling, the must is allowed to warm which naturally starts fermentation, turning the grape must into wine. Once the desired alcohol and pressure level is reached, fermentation is halted and the wine is filtered and bottled. This unique process produces a lusciously sweet red wine in the frizzante (slightly effervescent) style.
